Instagram Ad Code

For brand collaborations or "collaboration ads," you can get a unique code to share with the brand to allow them to promote your content as a collaboration ads that features both yours and the brand's account.


  • Sharing an ad code allows brands to promote content as an ad for the next 180 days. Only one advertiser at a time can promote your content. It is not possible for multiple advertisers to promote the same content at the same time.


  • Creators are tagged in branded content. If the post, story or reel is branded content, the creator will be tagged as a paying partner.


  • They do not appear as an ad on your profile. The ad won't be visible on your profile, but it may appear as published from your account instead of the brand's.


  • The ad will appear in the ad library.



How to get a collaboration ad code



  1. On your Instagram profile, select the post, story or reel that you want to turn into a collaboration ad.


  1. Tap the three dots to see more your post, story, or reel. Over the upper right on Android and bottom right on iOs.


  1. Click "Partnership label and ads"


  1. Activate the "Add paid partnership label" and "Get Partnership Ad Code" buttons.


The code will be displayed. Tap "Copy" or "Share" to send it as a DM to the brand.


If organic content was promoted such as an ad on Instagram, that content can no longer be edited.



The advertiser's access to the ad code won't be removed if you archive the content. Brands will have access to your archived content and hidden partnership posts.
